Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been fascinated with stones. I’ve had various rock collections throughout my life, but due to life in general, only a small box filled with different fossils, rocks, and crystals has made it into my adult life. Despite not being able to consistently contribute to this collection throughout the various stages of my life, I have always continued to collect small stones and shells when I travel. On our recent trip to Ireland, Continue reading
I don’t know why I never realized this before, but wine has more benefits beyond just drinking it. Well, the cork does at least! If you’re anything like me, having a nice glass of red wine after a long day at work is the best way to unwind and relax. In doing just that last night, it came to me that the cork I had just popped would make an awesome stamp for polka-dotting, and hey, it’s basically free! So I decided to put it to use and decorate some more dish towels!
Happy Wednesday, Friends!
For this week’s project I decided that it was high time to patch some holes in a cardigan that I’ve been putting off for…well, ever, basically. I keep seeing fun heart-shaped patches circulating on Pinterest (like this lovely lass right here) and have been wanting to implement them into something similar of my own. This project was extremely easy and I even made it easier than I originally planned! So here ya go; how to make your own heart-shaped elbow patches!
If you’ve been following the incredible Heather Q, you’d know that she’s kinda been kicking my butt at this Pinterest battle. But I’m still hanging in there, screaming my rally cry and decided that for my next project I’d spruce up a planter tray for a Philodendron that my mom recently gave me. I scored some nifty wooden bowls down in the free section of our apartment building and they’ve just been sitting, waiting to have something done with them for months now. In browsing my Pinterest pages, I came across this Pin and decided that I wanted to do something similar to the bowls I have.
As my Philodendron was just sitting in a plastic tray, I decided that a decorative bowl would be the best addition to embellish the look a bit.
When it came to brainstorming for this Pinterest battle, I wasn’t too sure what I was going to make. There are so many projects that I’ve been wanting to get done and I love having the accountability to do at least one a week now, but determining which one to start on has been the hardest part of the battle for me. With the sun and heat coming back to Portland (slowly…so slowly) my desire to live off of popsicles is in full swing! And since I always indulge my sweet-tooth, I thought I’d try my hand at a more healthy alternative. I like to keep frequent options for desserts available on my Pinterest Dessert board so that I can go down the rabbit-hole of desserty goodness any time I want. It was through this abyss of Pins and links that I came across Nom Nom Paleo’s Lava Flow Ice Pops and they are aaaaaaaaa-mazing!
I followed the directions to a “T” and because my popsicle mold holds 6 popsicles instead of 8, I had enough left over to make a delicious Lava Flow drink afterward! BONUS! So, friends, go follow this recipe right here and enjoy the guilt-free joy of this frozen treat!
They look amazing as well!
